I have been looking at this line of products. I have heard the Chem-Blue is good but then I see its Carbon plus resin, I am hesitant to spend $20 on Charcoal. Following and hope to learn more about this stuff

I started another thread on this, and can't really get many responses. I too bought this product, rinsed it for like 15 minutes and it was still coming out brown/black. I just have it soaking in RODI water until I figure out if its OK to put into the tank. This product seems great, but the company wont respond to my email, and no one on the forum seems to respond on the topic.
Following just in case more info comes out.

I use Chemi-Pure Blue and LOVE it, the resin in it helps to remove phosphates. The brown stain is normal, just rinse it until it's mostly clear.

They ship it damp so that results in the coloring. Rinse in Rodi if u.can and good to go,

I just spoke to Boyd Enterprises. Left them a message yesterday and got a call back today. They said that the brown/black is normal and although the instructions say to rinse lightly he does recommend a good long rinse until its noticeably lighter, but you will never get a perfect clear water after rinsing. He mentioned that the cloudy water is basically just gfo/carbon dust. They may also be in the process of changing their carbon as well. Also he suggested that if you need to take out the Chemi-pure elite just to keep it damp until ready to use again. I jumped the gun and thought it was a good idea to put it in right off the bat, but i think i'll let it soak in RODI water for a few weeks until my tank finishes cycling.

In the Nano tank it's worth it 100%. I ran Elite in my Biocubes wow was that water clean. Running the Blue in my Fluval Evo. Same result the Resin is actually similar to Purigen. Elite just has GFO mixed in. But the stuff defintely clears water.I have been looking at this line of products. Your gonna get mixed reviews. The product works. But you can kinda make it yourself. It's definitely a premium price but it is better than just carbon. Most us guys with Skimmerless Nanos will swear buy it although. Just because you need the stuff in a sense.
